POSHFAIRYTAIL PUPPY INFORMATION
Information Regarding Teacup Sized Puppies!
Since teacup and micro are words given by breeders to describe the size of a tiny puppy there is no universal standard. Each breeder has the right to express their own definition of the size of a puppy. It is not a breed or different from the breed itself. It only describes size. Every breeder might express the word teacup to determine different sizes and weights of their own puppies but, our standards of the word teacup or micro are stated below: Teacup is usually means puppy will be 3 to 4 pounds full grown. Micro is a word we use to describe puppies to be between 2 to 3 pounds.
Are Teacups Healthy?
People have been scared and have raised some concerns on teacup puppies. Today, among the old breeders in the country, there has been a campaign to end the trend of teacup puppies. There are many people out there who have mistaken ideas of teacups of them being not healthy. While it is true that some teacups can have health problems, if a teacup is bred from a healthy line, and bred from a line that is specifically bred to be small, then they can be just as healthy as any other size dog.
Sometimes a puppy will be born extra small out of a litter of regular or miniature sizes that have all regular or large dogs behind them, and the breeder will call this a teacup. But the real reason that the pup is tiny is because they have something wrong with them that keep them from growing to normal size. This pup might be sickly, or will have numerous health problems, or might even seem to be healthy, but only lives for a short time or a few years. This is not a true teacup! This is just an unhealthy pup! This is where many people mistakenly get the idea from, that teacups are not healthy.
Poshfairytail teacups are different, like myself my parents were small and my great grand parents were small. My families in general are small people by our DNA. Like my parents, I am a small woman who is 5ft 1 inch and weigh 100 lbs. I am considered to be a small person. Just because I am small doesn’t mean I am unhealthy. Like my puppies, their parents are small and the line is small, which makes them small. We urge people to be careful when purchasing a teacup puppy. We value our clients and also our puppies and that is why our mission came about to introduce people with healthy and tiny puppies.

Recently, people have been misusing our photos of our puppies and have been trying to sell their puppies to people online.

There potential clients can watch and see our puppy videos.
All our pictures are on our website and are updated. None of our pictures are photo neither edited nor misleading. There are some people out there where they take pictures of puppies which are 4 to 9 weeks old and call them teacups or micro puppies. All of our pictures of our puppies are at least 4 months old. There is a huge difference when you compare a 4 week old puppy against a 4 month old puppy. Our puppies are tiny at 4 months old and will be tiny full grown. We do not play any games with pictures by manipulating the picture to make the puppy seem smaller. So please be assured our puppies are small and trust us.

Once it arrives, we like the puppy to stay with us to rest for a week before the puppy can be sent to you. This is to ensure that the puppies get plenty of rest and doesn’t get any stress from traveling.
There are a lot of bad rumors going around on the internet about Poshfairytal, are they all true?
We are fully aware of all the false acquisitions of Poshfairytail being made on the internet; such as, “Poshfairytail is a puppy mill” or “we have scammed someone” or “our puppies are unhealthy” or “Jina is an illegal immigrant”.
On this issue, we would like explain that these rumors were created by other breeders and by our competition.
As this country was created on the basis of freedom of speech we have no way of erasing these false accusations; especially on the internet. We have thought of filing a law suit against the people who made these false accusations, but after looking into the cost of lawyer and court fees it was too much, therefore left it alone.
Poshfairytail can guarantee in the 3 years of business we have not had a single puppy ever being sick or have died from any diseases. Also, Poshfairytail is not a puppy mill nor does our puppy come from puppy mills. With all the interests in our puppies, we have created a lot of fans but also a lot of people who hate us. We can name the people who bad mouth us but by us doing that we will be no different then them and that is why we only concentrate on working with our clients, instead of fighting with these immature people. Its sometime ridiculous of things they have made up, for example some people spread rumors like I am an illegal immigrant. To us it’s rude and ill-mannered to talk about someone like that, but what would you do if these people were making up lies like this?

Puppy Tip
PUPPY TIPS...
Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting time for a pet owner. However, proper puppy care requires preparation and planning.
Feeding Your New Puppy
Young puppies have nutritional needs which are different than those of more mature dogs. In order to meet these nutritional needs, the food for the new puppy must be chosen carefully. Puppies require foods which are formulated for growth. The food should be a high quality growth or puppy food which will provide all of the new puppies' nutritional needs without supplementation.
Puppy Proof the Home to Protect the New Puppy
New puppy care requires careful planning and preparation to protect the new puppy from hazards in the home. These hazards may consist of chemicals (cleaning products, rodenticides, insecticides, pool chemicals), medicines (human or pet), electrical cords, toys and other items which can be swallowed, and plants which may be toxic if ingested. These items should be secured out of reach of a curious puppy.
Socialization – An Important Part of New Puppy Care
For young puppies, the first few months of age are extremely important for preparing the new puppy for his life to come. Proper socialization is critical as these early months are the most important time to imprint experiences and teach the new puppy that nothing is to be feared. During these months, new puppies should be introduced to as many new experiences and new people as possible. It is also important to make certain these experiences are pleasant for the new puppy, as negative experiences can be imprinted on a puppy's personality as well and leave the puppy fearful for the rest of his life.
Puppy classes are a good way of socializing young puppies and allowing them to interact with other animals. However, care should be taken to protect the puppy from infectious diseases during these experiences as well. Any other animals introduced to the new puppy should be healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations and parasite control to help prevent the spread of infectious disease.
The Role of Training your New Puppy
Caring for a new puppy involves teaching the new puppy manners. Proper training should be started at an early age. Training methods used for new puppies should focus on positive reinforcement, using treats and other rewards to encourage proper behavior. Confrontational training methods and those based on punishment should be avoided. Young puppies should never be physically punished.
Veterinary Care for the New Puppy
Proper health care is essential for the new puppy. The new puppy should have an examination performed by a veterinarian to make certain the puppy is healthy and free of congenital diseases. In addition, vaccinations will be necessary for the new puppy. Heartworm preventive medicines should be started at a young age, as should flea and tick preventive medications.Having a sample of the new puppies feces examined for parasites is advisable as well.
Hypoglycemia
WHAT IS HYPOGLYCEMIA?
Hypoglycemia , or low blood sugar (sometimes called "sugar shock") is a condition where the blood sugar level drops to an extremely low level, usually due to lack of food, or by using up all stored energy without it being replenished. (Such as when your puppy plays for an extended period of time without eating.)
Teacups can be prone to hypoglycemia because they have such tiny digestive systems. They can only store a small amount of food (energy) in their bodies at one time. Their liver and pancreas which are necessary for digestion and sugar balance are also small and usually underdeveloped as well. This is why most puppies tend to grow out of hypoglycemia as they get older. As they grow, so do their major organs. This makes them more able to utilize and process the food that they eat so it can sustain them for longer periods of time.
Also, other common triggers are stress (such as going to a new home) or bacterial infections or coccidiosis. (Coccidiosis is a protozoan infection that most puppy and adult dogs carry, but can lie dormant and cause no problems until in a stressful situation.) When a puppy is exposed to stress, and/or not getting proper nutrition, Coccidiosis can rapidly multiply in the intestinal track and cause illness, making hypoglycemia worse. This is why many breeders and vets have been stumped as to how an otherwise healthy puppy, with a negative fecal exam, can suddenly develop coccidiosis only a few days after going to a new home. Because of this, having a stool sample analyzed by your vet can be a good idea if you are having a problem with hypoglycemia in your new puppy.
HOW TO TREAT HYPOGLYCEMIA
For the first few weeks, do not let your T-cup out to play for longer than a one hour period at a time. Play with them for a short time, then give them a small dose of Nutri-Cal® or karo syrup and then place them back in their playpen so they can eat and rest. Remember that they are very tiny babies and tire easily. Please be careful not to over-tire your puppy especially in the first few weeks. A puppy will play until it drops. It may play so much that it is too tired to eat. It is up to you as the owner to be responsible and see that your puppy gets enough rest. Most very small puppies need as much as 20 out of 24 hours rest. Be especially aware of the amount of time children play with the puppy. These are babies and must be treated as such.
*Hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar can be deadly to your puppy! It is a problem that affects many toy breeds of puppies usually between the age of 5-20 weeks of age. All owners of small dogs should be on the lookout for it!
The best preventative for this, is to have a tube of Nutri-Cal® or Nutri-Stat® on hand. It is an extremely good source of food and vitamins. It is also one of the best preventatives and/or cures for keeping your puppy from going into hypoglycemia. It is important for at least the first week or so, to remember to give your puppy a little bit (1 inch strip) of Nutri-Cal® or Nutri-Stat® in the morning and in the evening.
Also, if they have been out playing for a while, or have had a lot of people carrying them aroundor have been away from a food source for a prolonged period of time, give them a tiny bit before retiring them to their playpen.
( We recommend nutri-cal over honey as honey brings the blood sugar up for a short period oftime, but then the blood sugar tends to plummet again. Nutri-cal has a food source combined with sweeteners which keeps the blood sugar more stable for a longer period of time. Also, too much honey tends to rot the teeth)
Always make sure that you have a firm grip on your puppy at all times when it is off the ground. Many fatalities or broken bones have been caused by a tiny dog wriggling out of an owners grasp, or jumping off a lap, couch, or bed, and breaking their neck, legs, or landing on their head.
Always supervise small children when around or handling a small dog. The only safe way for a child to hold a small dog, is sitting on the floor with the puppy between their legs, or on their lap. Also, never leave a small puppy on a chair, bed, couch, or stairs unattended. Remember, a fall from as low as two feet high can be fatal!
Never ever leave your teacup unattended unless it is in it's playpen or a safe enclosure! There are many places that such a tiny dog can manage to fit in, and disappear from, not to mention get stuck under! Also such innocent things as a book or telephone falling on them can break a bone or be deadly!
